This piece honors the significance of the words we learn typically at a young age and continue to use throughout our lives, sometimes without a thorough concept of what they are. Prayer is a practice that changes for me, constantly. It is the daily practice of gratitude, it is the quiet and deep conversations amongst friends and it is the new question that arises during a trying time. Most importantly, prayer is the art of recognizing that there are certain things that humble us in life and bring us to our knees.
